We are an active community partner! We create committees in our prospective service areas to engage in collaboration and improve the lives of the residents who live in those communities. We make a difference by raising money for the United Way, participating in Chamber events such as Leadership Rowan or Cabarrus, The Dragon Boat Race or even chilly water jumps with the Polar Plunge to raise money for the Special Olympics.

We believe in your professional and personal development. As an institution of higher education, we understand how to meet employees where they are by helping them meet both their professional and personal learning goals. Our managers work hard to provide meaningful training opportunities through conferences, board memberships or even certification.

We strive to engage and ignite our employees! College employees can serve on both local and national committees, and boards within our counties but can also serve on internal committees that enrich our college knowledge and improve our work environment.

Our Advisory Council for Inclusive Belonging is devoted to celebrating and embracing differences as strengths while creating an open and engaging environment. The primary goals are to promote a spirit of inclusion, encourage participation in activities that provide social awareness and encourage dialogue as we evolve our diverse campus community.

Rowan-Cabarrus believes that it is important for employees to have work-life balance and both physical and mental health. We offer an environment of psychological safety where your manager listens to you without judgment or retribution.

To support you in achieving your wellness goals, we offer a plethora of opportunities to run, walk or even get a mammogram from an onsite Mobile Mammography unit, not to mention the onsite gym, walking trails and online wellness platform that offers something for everyone.

The College also has an extensive Employee Assistance Program that offers eight free counseling sessions for you and your family.

We believe in protecting and teaching about the sustainability of our environment. If you have an electric vehicle, then you can take advantage of filling up your vehicle on one of our campuses.

If those committees did not grab your attention, there are many more to spark your interest, such as the College Staff Association, College Faculty Association or Vision 20/20. These committees sometimes function as action teams where ideas and programs can be openly discussed with leadership.
